About Me

Austin-Texas-AI-Ethics-HCI

Hi, I’m Melaney Kakkar — a U.S.-based student, independent researcher, and freelancer deeply passionate about the future of computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, neuroscience, and cognitive science.

I founded Artificial Intelligence and Beyond to explore the depths of intelligence — where technology meets human cognition, ethics confronts capability, and existence itself becomes a question worth modeling. Through in-depth articles, comprehensive lists, roadmaps, and frameworks, I aim to bridge complex ideas in a way that’s accessible to curious minds, whether you’re a fellow researcher, student, practitioner, or simply someone fascinated by how minds (biological or artificial) reason, learn, and decide.

My Focus Areas
My writing and research center on:

  • Advanced reasoning methods — from probabilistic and Bayesian approaches to abductive, defeasible, causal, analogical, and hybrid systems (I’ve compiled lists of 100–130+ distinct frameworks used in AI and cognitive science).
  • Cognitive modeling — how probabilistic models explain human inference, decision-making under uncertainty, memory, and higher-order thinking.
  • Ethics and philosophy of AI — the implications of digital twins, simulated consciousness, surveillance, and the moral dimensions of intelligent systems.
  • Interdisciplinary intersections — neuroscience-inspired AI, human-computer interaction (HCI) cognitive frameworks, body language analysis, geospatial techniques in profiling, and even biological mechanisms like protein folding as analogies for computation.
  • Career & learning paths — practical roadmaps for data science, AI certifications, remote tech jobs, and projections for fields like cybersecurity vs. data science.

Whether it’s dissecting 130+ reasoning paradigms, mapping probabilistic models onto human cognition, or thinking through the philosophical weight of “digital versions of consciousness,” my goal is to spark deeper conversations and help others navigate these rapidly evolving domains.

Why I Write & Share
I’m driven by curiosity and a belief that understanding intelligence — in all its forms — can lead to more ethical, effective, and humane technology. As a lifelong learner myself, I create these resources to help others shortcut the overwhelm: students building knowledge, professionals upskilling, researchers seeking synthesis, and anyone who wants to discuss big questions without gatekeeping.
I’m always open to collaboration, guest contributions, co-authoring explorations, virtual coffee chats, or simply exchanging ideas on X, LinkedIn, email, or wherever thoughtful tech discussions happen.
